Have you ever had and STD?           
These are nasty, horrible diseases~ 
Some people seem to think they are immune~ 
What a misconception~ 
Perhaps some information about it, please~ 
It’s not all gloom and doom~ 
They can be prevented with just some common sense~ 
Chlamydia such a funny name~ 
Is caused by a bacteria~ 
Symptoms can be mild or altogether absent~ 
Vaginal discharge, burning when urinating and discharge from the penis~ 
Hmmm, what a turn on~ 
Did you think about this before sex? 
Pretty serious if left untreated~ 
Get tested and some antibiotics~ 
Oh goodie, there’s more~ 
Gonorrhea~ 
Another bacteria that loves warm, moist places~ 
Again sometimes there are no symptoms~ 
Oh guys, here’s what really sexy about this one~ 
Swollen testicles, pain when urinating and a greenish discharge from your penis~ 
Women can mistake it for a bladder infection~ 
Can show up in your rectum and throat~ 
Guess how that happens? 
Isn’t sex so much FUN? 
Gonorrhea can be drug resistant~ 
This is life threatening~ 
Pay attention~ 
Cause here comes Herpes~ 
Painful sore blisters~ 
On your mouth simplex 1~ 
On your genitals simplex 2~ 
And you don’t always see it right away~ 
No obvious outbreak needed for infection~ 
Unfortunately, more common in women~ 
Which leads into HPV or Human Papilloma Virus~ 
Ugly warts, 30 different genital types~ 
YIKES!! 
Oh and let’s not forget those pesky buggahs~ 
CRABS~ 
You know lice on your pubes, they are parasite suckers~ 
Luckily, you can “wash them outta your hair” with permethrin~ 
No, I didn’t say I needed your permission~ 
To talk about a killer bacteria that is on the rise~ 
Syphills~ 
No I didn’t say Phyllis~ 
This STD can imitate other diseases~ 
Sores can come on the mouth, lips, vagina or anus~ 
If not treated, can cause dementia and death~ 
However the MacDaddy of all STDS~ 
Is HIV~ 
You know the Human Immunodeficiency Virus~ 
Spreads by blood, semen, breast milk and vaginal fluids~ 
Doesn’t care who you are, what you do or how much money you have~ 
There is no vaccine, no cure~ 
This virus can lead to AIDS and eventually death~ 
If you get one STD you are more prone to get HIV~ 
In fact Herpes plays the major role is spreading HIV among heterosexuals~ 
FOR REALS! 
Let’s talk about sex, honey~ 
Are you at risk? 
Better assess yourself~ 
Cuz this stuff ain’t funny~ 
Do you have sex with men, multiple partners w/ no protection or shoot drugs? 
It only takes one time~ 
Uh-uh, don’t just shrug~ 
Condoms are not always 100% and you must use them correctly~ 
Monogamy or abstinence is the safest bet~ 
If you are gonna do the deed, protect yourself~ 
Wrap that rascal~ 
Glove the love~ 
Get tested~ 
Whew, sexual survival~ 
Exhausting, isn’t it? 
Before the passion remember the lesson~ 
And in the end, you’ll be alive~
