Samhain - Summer's End - 10/31-11/01
Samhain (A Celtic tradition, Gaelic term for "summer's end") 10/31-11/01 is a time to honor the dead, not mourn them. It's a time to listen for messages as the veil is the thinnest during this time of the year between the worlds. Dia de los Muertos is also this very celebration. Many also know it as All Souls' Day. Who are you honoring? I take a step back and realize, even though this hardly represents all the people I know that have passed on to the other realm, it does make me take pause. From my Aunt Dott, G'ma Winifred, my Uncle Ray and his mother Grammy Nash all from my home state of NH taught me to be outspoken, enjoy good food, the outdoors, be artistic in whatever form(s) that is, to be fair and to laugh. My drum circle & Kaiser work bud JoeJoe from Berkeley with a smile and a lil "somethin-somethin" to ease the pain. To my sweet friend, probably the sweetest person I've ever known here on Kauai, I miss you Linda McCall!! To my first husband Mark in KY who taught me much about what NOT to do in life however we made a handsome couple! LOL! To one of baddest entities to ever roam, Miss Didi in Santa Cruz - blessed be, siSTAR! To the funny and yet so very sad Nick Danger who was kind to me when I first moved to CA & called me Auntie Faith. To my Father, who taught me how to be a decent human being and is sorely missed daily. I honor them all...mahalo nui loa & may you rest easy, at peace, in power, in magick, keep on truckin or #rockon~
